Our faculty member Asst. Prof. Serdal Tümkaya’s article, “Method Before Ontology: Reconstructing the Core of Eliminative Materialism” has been published in Acta Analytica on 26 January 2026.
Focusing on eliminative materialism, one of the most controversial positions in contemporary philosophy of mind, the study argues that this approach is not merely an ontological thesis of rejection, as it is often assumed to be, but also involves a robust methodological debate about how psychological concepts should be revised in light of scientific developments. Drawing on the writings of Quine, Feyerabend, Rorty, and Stich, the article invites readers to reconsider established interpretations of eliminative materialism.
We congratulate our faculty member for his work and wish them continued success.
